Hyeyeon Park

Piano

Hyeyeon Park

Described as “a pianist with power, precision, and tremendous glee” (Gramophone Magazine) and praised for her “very sensitive” (Washington Post) and “highly nuanced” (Lucid Culture) playing, Hyeyeon Park has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on concert stages throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Japan, and her native Korea.

Ms. Park made her debut at the age of 10, performing Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra. She then soloed with Seoul Philharmonic, Seoul Symphony, and other Korean orchestras. Recently, she has performed in Chicago, New York, and Washington, DC.

She has appeared with many musicians in chamber ensembles and performed at numerous festivals in the US, Asia, and Europe.

Ms. Park is a founding member of Atapine-Park duo and Atria Ensemble, both global prize-winning groups.

She holds a bachelor of music from Korea National University, a master of music and artist diploma from Yale School of Music, and a doctor of musical arts from Peabody Conservatory.

Currently, Ms. Park is the artistic co-director of Friends of Chamber Music Kansas City and co-director of Music@Menlo Chamber Music Festival Smith Family Young Performers Program. She is also associate professor of piano at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she also is the artistic co-director of the Apex Concerts.

Violin

Gary Levinson

Gary Levinson is the senior principal associate concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the artistic director of the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth.

Born in St. Petersburg, he began studying the violin at the age of 5 at the Leningrad Special Music School. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1977, and he began winning top prizes at international competitions. Known for his Bel Canto playing style and adroit technique, Mr. Levinson made his New York Philharmonic solo debut in 1991, coinciding with the completion of his master’s degree at The Julliard School.

Much sought-after as a chamber musician, he has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma, Lynn Harrell, and Eugenia Zuckerman. He has recorded several CDs, including a bass and violin duo – performed with his father, renowned double bassist Eugene Levinson – written for and dedicated to the father-and-son team.

Gary Levinson travels and performs year round all over the globe, including to summer music festivals. He also mentors young musicians through the CMSFW2 emerging artist program.

Jen Betz

Violin

Jen Betz

Jen Betz is a member of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

She is from San Jose, California, and has played violin since the age of 7. She received her bachelor of music from Northwestern University in 2008.

Ms. Betz has played with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida, and has been a member of the Peninsula Music Festival since 2008.

In addition to playing violin, she enjoys running, reading, and traveling.

Viola

Dmitry Kustanovich

Dmitry Kustanovich joined the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 2005 and has also performed with the Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Seattle Symphony Orchestras.

He immigrated with his family to the United States at age 5, settling in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mr. Kustanovich received his bachelor of music from the Manhattan School of Music on violin and a post-baccalaureate diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music on viola.

In his spare time, Mr. Kustanovich enjoys playing string quartets with his colleagues in Sedici Strings, traveling, hiking, cycling, and playing chess and baseball.

Cello

Julian Schwarz

Heralded from a young age as a cellist destined to rank among the greatest of the 21st century, Julian Schwarz’s powerful tone, effortless virtuosity and extraordinarily large color palette are hallmarks of his style.

After making his concerto debut at age 11 with the Seattle Symphony, he made his U.S. touring debut in 2010 with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since winning first prize at the inaugural Schoenfeld International String Competition in Hong Kong, Mr. Schwarz has led an active career as soloist, performing with symphony orchestras across America. Internationally, he made his Australian debut with the Queensland Symphony, as well as his Mexican debuts with the Boca del Rio Philharmonic in Veracruz and the Mexico City Philharmonic.

Horn

Bernhard Scully

Bernhard Scully is professor of horn and chair of the winds, brass, and percussion area at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received the 2025 Campus Distinguished Promotion Award.

An internationally renowned horn soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue, he serves as artistic director of Cormont Music. He performs with the North Country Chamber Players during summers in New Hampshire.

Mr. Scully is principal horn of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and the St. Barthélemy Music Festival. His distinguished career includes long tenures as horn player with the Canadian Brass, touring globally and recording extensively, and as principal horn of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, where he was featured as a soloist on stages like Carnegie Hall.

His awards include being the first classical brass player to win a McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians, as well as top honors in numerous competitions.

As a pedagogue, Mr. Scully has taught at institutions like the Eastman School of Music, with students holding positions worldwide. His degrees are from Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2010.

He resides with his wife, Sarah, and their three daughters in Urbana, Illinois.

Jonathan Gunn

Clarinet

Jonathan Gunn

Clarinetist Jonathan Gunn is a versatile artist with a varied career as educator, soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. He served as principal clarinet from 2011 to 2016 with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and, prior to that, was the principal clarinetist of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.

He has performed as guest principal clarinet with the Chicago, Houston, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras and Houston Grand Opera, among others.

Mr. Gunn was featured at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest performing the Copland Clarinet Concerto and has performed internationally as soloist and recitalist including recent performances in China, Thailand, Taiwan, and Canada.

Committed to the education of the next generation of clarinetists, Mr. Gunn gives masterclasses and recitals around the world and has served on the faculties of the Buffet-Crampon Summer Academy, the Aria International Summer Academy, the National Youth Orchestra of the USA and Round Top Music Festival.

Currently, Mr. Gunn serves as the associate professor of clarinet at the Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the faculty at The University of Texas, he served on the faculty at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
